Students’ Presentation at the Transforming through Engagement Symposium

SOCI 6331 Disaster and Society

Students in SOCI 6331 Disaster and Society class which was offered in Fall 2018 presented their research study’s findings at the Transforming through Engagement Symposium organized by the Office of the Engaged Scholarship and Learning on April 26, 2019. Under the guidance of Dr. Kyne, the students conducted a research study on disaster preparedness in the Rio Grande Valley. The students in two groups presented two research topics in poster formats, namely Understanding Social Capital and Disaster Preparedness, and A Study of Perceived Risk and Disaster Preparedness in Rio Grande Valley .
